A lovely, easy walk between the vineyards of Lavaux, which are protected by UNESCO. The paths allow easy alternations to the length of the walk - all pram friendly and facing lake Léman. We visited the vineyards during Autumn with the lovely, warm sun. During summer, this area has a strong sun exposure and may be very, very hot. There is a kids play park at the suggested coordinates for car parking. There aren't many animals around, but our toddler enjoyed spotting all the boats on lake Léman. It is a rather busy route.
We passed a number of stalls with locally produced wine. The route also follows along a few wine shops / caves. There are a few restaurants in Chexbres and Saint-Saphorin; Le Deck, near the starting point, has the most beautiful terrace overlooking the vineyards and the lake.
The whole route follows tarmac roads or pavements, most of which are rather wide. The routes are very scenic and hilly. The mountains across the lake are visible, making the experience even more enjoyable. Chexbres - the suggested starting point - is at the highest point of the walk. The route starts next to a busy road, but quickly turns into the smaller roads around the vineyards. There are a number of shortcuts and many possible routes to take. There are only a few benches facing the lake; however it is easy to find a stone pedestal on the side of the road to take a break and dwell on the surrounding views.
