There doesn't seem to be a perfect time to visit the vineyards of Mont Vully - it is an experience to walk there when the grapes are ripe; it is at low altitudes so it is also nice in autumn and spring. The views are opening towards Murten lake and distant mountains. The surrounding vineyards somehow add a romantic sense to the walk. There was not many opportunities for sitting down, but there were a few access points to Murten lake at the bottom of the hill. We didn't meet many people on this route in spring. I think the walk is also nice for a dog companion.

The vineyard route starts right at the parking and follows a tarmac road until reaching a small wooden bridge on the left side. Here the path transforms into a single forest trail and starts to ascent a lot. I found some parts of this incline rather steep. When we walked this trail, there was plenty of small flowers surrounding the pathway in the forest and it was a very pretty sight. When we reached the fields, we had beautiful views at the lake and distant mountains. The way back didn't feel as steep as the way to get to the top of Mont Vully. A large part of the walk was out with the forest at looking at either the vineyards or the views.

There is also a Grape Harvest Festival in September.
