A very short and easy family walk with enjoyable views at lake Neuchâtel and vineyards. The hike was quiet and we didn't meet anyone outside of Cheyres' main streets. The walk is suitable for toddlers and for dog walking. Due to a few steps, it is not suitable for prams.
There aren't many opportunities for a picnic en route, however Plage de Cheyres is a wonderful place to rest with picnic tables, hammocks and a play area. La Sarcelle restaurant is located at the beach and La Grappe restaurant is at the parking lot.
The whole walk is very pleasant and Autumn added its colourful beauty into the views. Most of the route follows tarmac roads with only a short section going through a thinner path and steps. The route starts through the main road and soon turns into smaller roads at the edge of the vineyard. Later the roads took us between the vines, houses and eventually back to the opposite edge of the vineyard. There was a short, steep part of climbing, however I think that sports clothing is not required.
After the walk we visited Plage de Cheyres, where we stopped for a goûter and for our son to play at the pirate ship play park.
Visit our Mont Vully vineyard hike post for a similar walk around nearby vineyards.
