A very friendly family walk. Rolling hills and ongoing views at cherry trees make it all a very pleasant and easy walk. There were many families walking around or picnicking. Due to the wildlife waking up, the grass around the trees is protected and it is forbidden to step into it. Thanks to that, it is even easier to spot bumblebee queens flying around. Information boards are spread along the path with 3 types of leaflet: general map leaflet, detailed 9km map and a stamp collecting sheet (stamps are at each information board).
There are designated areas with benches for picnics. We also came across a number of booths selling snacks or drinks. There was also an honesty fridge selling eggs, so if you are keen on buying some, it may be a suggestion to bring your own egg box.
There are two main routes, which are suggested to hike: a 5km loop or a 9km loop (it also possible to join them).

The map is extracted from a leaflet, which is available at information boards located on the route.
We decided to walk the shorter loop and letting our toddler use a pedal-less bike. The trail follows a dirt road for most of the time and a tarmac road at other times. As soon as the route took us away from the city, the trees started appearing on the meadows. Quite close to here (~point 1), we came across an information booth. It is also at this point where we saw a chicken yard with a fridge selling fresh eggs. The higher we went, the more trees were visible & the views were getting prettier and prettier. It felt that we went down to the city very fast (because we were running after our son riding his bike), passing a few groups of people enjoying the surroundings and a BBQ / their picnics.
We combined our hike and lunch picnic in Frick with an afternoon goûte picnic in Nuglar, before heading back home.
