We just arrived in Zweisimmen for a week and at the time, we were stunned with this hike. Looking back at this loop, I think there are other, more scenic hikes, which are also easily accessible. The hike required a lot of climbing and we were quite far from reaching the summit. We don't recall seeing many benches, but we did meet a few hikers.

We started this hike from Zweisimmen village and followed a road (with varying ground cover) for majority of the walk, which was rather steep. Most of the hike is open to the surrounding views. We started following route no. 37 until we deviated to the North part of the loop hike. On the way back, we followed route no. 37 again and walked next to a forest for a while. Once we finished descending and before finishing our adventure, we decided to follow the path along the airport and next to the river. This section was flat and easy.

Zweisimmen village offers plenty of nice restaurants and cafes to dine. We had a lovely dinner at Gasthof Bären with life music and very pleasant staff. Cable car cabins to nearby Rinderberg mountain are also open for private dining at specific dates. Prices and dates are available here.

More information about the hikes can be found on SchweizMobil website here.
