We found that majority of January in 2021 mostly had cloudy weekends. Fortunately, this does not mean that we cannot enjoy the pretty views at snow-covered trees, fields and forests. If doing this winter hike in sunny conditions, Lake Léman can be easily visible, along with the Alps behind it. We felt quite 'lost' while on this path, enjoying the silence and singing birds around us. The trail is not suitable for a sledge.

The path was not busy and we passed a few hikers (most using snowshoes).

There were no restaurants or cafés on this path, but it was easy to find a spot and set up a picnic.

The path signage only indicates towards one direction - starting from the North side of the walk. The path is not prepared and the tracks left after previous hikers were thin in width, sometimes making it easier for us to make our own tracks on top of the fresh snow.

The main elevation gain is at the beginning of the hike, after which the path is much easier and faster. Most of the way follows fields and forest paths; only the end is through a narrow road. The start of the trail was not clear, but we were lucky there were a number of locals around who directed us towards the start of the trail. The path starts at the top (North) side of the hill where the parking is (walk towards the singular tree). Once reaching the forest, the path gets very quiet and enjoyable. It was a cloudy day and we were't able to see Lake Léman, but it could be visible from around the peak of Mont Chesau. The route gives plenty of opportunities to stop and build a snowman!
