We did a long hike during the previous day and on this Sunday morning, we were in search of a quiet place where we could picnic and enjoy nature around us. This sea of daffodils is easily accessible by car. There were quite a few cars parked at the small parking, but it was not full. The parking is a starting point for a number of hiking routes and it got much quieter once we settled in between the flowers.

There was a take-away booth with drinks and snacks at the parking lot. We also found endless opportunities to set up a picnic.

The area is rather flat with small hills. To get to the field of daffodils, we took the tarmac road to the North around the building, until we reached the meadows. From there, we walked towards the yellow spots we saw in the distance. We did a small 1.5km stroll around the flowers, but the daffodils are visible from around 100m from the parking lot.

Visiting this picnic spot can be easily combined with a hike - there are plenty of routes around the area.

SchweizMobil offers many hiking routes around Tête de Ran, those can be viewed here. Plenty of references to this spot are made on social media and blogs - Pinterest, Instagram. Our main inspiration for this hike came from the blogger Family Earth Trek, whose blog post can be accessed here. A webcam is available from the top of Tête de Ran on the local tourist website here.
