A lovely, very easy, educative walk for kids, with no elevation gain. We did this walk during a very sunny day in February, making it all even more pretty and enjoyable with the sun. Our son enjoyed riding his bike throughout this walk. We also came across a number of people, cyclists, runners and kids. In this post, I joined 2 separate, smaller walks - one is 3.47km & the other one is 1.39km.

La Roselière, Restaurant du Port, Restaurant du Jura are located at the start of the walk.
Restaurant de Cygne & Dellet are at the lake village. There were plenty of picnic tables at the starting point & during the walk to the lake village. There were also plenty of picnic opportunities at the beach, which is the second part of the walk.
The paths are a part of Chevroux nature reserve, which extends throughout the South-East side of Neuchâtel (picture on the left). The next picture zooms into the region we explored in the 2 short walks. The first walk is a part of no. 71 path on SchweizMobil maps.

The maps were accessible on information boards along the trail.
Both walks are slightly mixed: there are elevated board platforms, a forest, reed fields, lake views and a beach. Throughout the path, we found multiple information boards about local animals and plants. Starting from the port parking in Chevroux, we quickly got into the forest, which lasted until we reached the lakeside village. The first boardwalk started at Chevroux, above standing water, with two side viewpoint platforms on the way. During the walk we also came across a small waterfall from high rocks. Closely to the end of the first walk, there is a large BBQ and picnic point. Just after that, there is Village Laucustre, where kids and adults can learn about Neolithic architecture. To join the second part of the walk, we followed a small road, through to the main parking area. There we found a sign towards a small alleyway between buildings leading to the port. The second boardwalk starts across the bridge on the left side, leading all the way to the beach. The second part of the loop goes through a small boat port.

An overview of the first walk can be found on Estavayer-le-lac, Payerne et Region Tourist website here. Other walks and activities can also be found on their tourist website here.
