This loop hike was a part of our long weekend camping trip at Lac des Quatre-Cantons. After our 2nd night in the tent, we were ready for some activity! We got up early and set on the road to get to Seelisberg area. Majority of the hike is between trees and the forest, which is very nice on a hot summers day. We came across a few benches on the walk and we passed many hikers and dogs.

The hike started on a car-width way with nice views at the small Seelisbergsee lake. Soon, the ascent became quite steep. Once the pathway went back to the forest, the pretty views shined between the trees. As we turned through the loop towards the Lac des Quatre-Cantons, there were more and more viewpoints towards the lake and the alps. When we started descending, the route got quite steep again, until joining the main Seelisbergstrasse road. As nice as it was to see local villages, it was a very hot day, so we were quite eager to get back to the car fast.

Lac des Quatre-Cantons is a beautiful lake offering accessibility for many water sports, such as kayaking, water paddling, swimming etc.
